Didier Awadi is one of the pioneers of Francophone
West African hip-hop. As cofounder
of the group Positive Black Soul, he
contributed to the international recognition
of hip-hop from Senegal before pursuing a
solo career. Through his label Studio Sankara,
he supports Senegal’s music scene and
emerging artists. His conscious approach
combines pan-African perspectives with social
and political messages. Blending rap,
history, and political reflection, Awadi uses
music as a space for dialogue and collective
imagination. Inspired by Thomas Sankara’s
vision, he continues to advocate for a brighter
pan-African future through artistic work.
